The genetic testing and information company, 23andMe, announced on March 23 that it has filed for bankruptcy, after years of financial struggles and data privacy concerns.

Filing for bankruptcy will allow the company “to facilitate a sale process to maximize the value of its business,” 23andMe said in a press release. The news also comes amid management changes; according to the press release, Chief Executive Officer Anne Wojcicki is stepping down from her role, effective immediately, but will continue to serve as a board member. The company’s board selected Chief Financial and Accounting Officer Joe Selsavage to serve as the interim CEO.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is out now, and a senior developer on the project has said the game needed to embrace machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies to come to market. Jorg Neumann said in an interview that it would not have been possible to create the game’s map data “by hand.”

“We would have spent our entire lives and then some just marking up terrain, which is not really the core of the thing. So it’s just a tool that helps us,” he told Rock Paper Shotgun of machine learning and AI.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Star Wars and Star Trek writer-director JJ Abrams, and superhero movie writer Zak Penn are teaming up for a new project.

Johnson shared a photo on Instagram of a dinner meeting the three had recently where they talked about “our passion for movies and storytelling.” He teased the upcoming project, whatever it might be, saying, “Yup, this one is gonna be fun.” Johnson said the project has been “years in the making.”
